# Slack agent

> The agent that watches your production, in your Slack: mention it in any channel, DM it, or let it chime in when it can clearly help.

Your DevOps engineer, now in every Slack channel. It investigates with you.

## The same agent as the console. Same context graph, same telemetry, same receipts.

- **Mention it anywhere.** @Polylane in a channel or a DM. Replies stream into the thread with a live checklist of what it's doing, and replying continues the same conversation.
- **It chimes in when it can help.** On by default and deliberately shy: a gate decides whether it genuinely has something to add, rate-limited per channel and per hour. Turn it off with /nominal unwatch, or just ask it to stop.
- **Every channel gets house rules.** Standing instructions per channel: answer as this team's on-call helper, keep replies brief, link the runbooks. Anyone in the channel can set them.
- **The fix reports back to the thread.** Ask for a fix in Slack and its fate comes back where you asked: CI failures, the merge, the close. Reply in the thread to steer the follow-up.
- **Notifications where the team lives.** Connecting creates #polylane-notifications: issue detections, automation results, and the weekly digest, each with a button back to the evidence.
