How to set up Grafana Cloud
- Find the Grafana Cloud stack URL, such as https://yourstack.grafana.net.
- Open Administration → Users and access → Service accounts and create an Editor service account with a token.
- Paste the stack URL and token into Polylane. If a free-tier stack has hibernated, open it in your browser and retry validation.
Permissions and access
Editor access supports dashboard reads, datasource queries, annotations and alert subscription. It is broader than a Viewer/read-only credential. The token is encrypted before storage and is not shown to the investigation agent.
Discovery, refresh and the connected view
Polylane provisions a webhook contact point and a catch-all notification-policy route that continues to your existing routes. Hourly reconciliation maintains that route. Agents query datasources using PromQL, LogQL, TraceQL or the datasource’s native syntax through Grafana’s proxy, and can read or create annotations for incident windows.
Disconnect and revoke access
Disconnect Grafana in Polylane to remove its contact point and notification-policy route, then revoke the service account token. If Terraform manages the policy tree, remove the Polylane route there too; while connected, include it as the first policy with continue enabled to avoid reconciliation drift.
