How to set up Slack
- Select Slack in Polylane and open the Slack installation flow.
- Choose the Slack workspace, review the requested app permissions and click Allow.
- Return to Polylane after installation, then mention Polylane in a channel or direct message to start working with the agent.
Permissions and access
Slack uses an app installation rather than a pasted personal API key. The checked connection guide does not provide the complete app scope manifest; the Slack consent screen is authoritative for the permissions you grant. Do not treat installing the app as connecting cloud inventory or granting a coding agent repository access.
Discovery, refresh and the connected view
The connected Slack workspace is a conversation surface for the same agent used in the console. Team members can ask investigation questions and receive triage or autofix updates where they already work. This connection does not claim a bulk export of all Slack history or a scheduled infrastructure sync.
Example workflow
Ask about a production incident by mentioning Polylane in the team’s Slack channel. The agent can use the cloud and observability connections already present in the Polylane workspace to investigate and answer in that conversation. Slack carries the conversation and updates; evidence still comes from the product connections the workspace has authorized.
Disconnect and revoke access
Disconnect Slack in Polylane, or remove the Polylane app under Slack Settings → Manage apps. Removing the Slack app revokes that workspace installation. Reinstall and authorize it again if the team later wants to resume using the agent from Slack.
