Expert incident response for PlanetScale
Our founding team picks up your incident, and Polylane's agents dig through your logs, metrics, traces and code with them.
- Real engineers who've carried the pager The team has been on-call at Cloudflare, Webflow, Groq, Twilio, and Robinhood. They've been where you are right now.
- Multi-cloud incident response Polylane investigates incidents across AWS, Cloudflare, Vercel, Kubernetes and the rest of your stack, from the edge to the database.
- Unified context & investigation Logs, metrics, traces, deploys and code in one context graph. Connect in minutes, not weeks.
- Least-privilege access New cloud accounts connect read-only, with scoped credentials. Nothing in production changes unless you allow it.

My database on PlanetScale is down. What should I do?
Check planetscalestatus.com first. If PlanetScale reports nothing, open Insights for the database: it shows the queries driving latency, errors and load. If a schema change went out just before the errors started, revert it from its deploy request if revert is still available, then fix the query or index.
- 1 Check PlanetScale's status planetscalestatus.com lists incidents by region and service. If yours shows one, the problem is upstream.
- 2 Read Insights Insights ranks queries by time, rows read and errors, so a new slow query or a missing index stands out.
- 3 Line it up with your last change Compare the start of the errors with your latest deploy requests and app deploys. A dropped index or a renamed column shows up in both.
- 4 Check connections Can't reach database server errors usually mean wrong credentials or host, a deleted password, or a connection limit.
How we resolve active incidents
- 1 Rapid onboarding A Polylane engineer reaches out, connects Polylane to your clouds, code and telemetry, and confirms what's affected.
- 2 Investigation & mitigation Polylane's agents investigate across logs, metrics, traces and recent changes, and an engineer works with you on the right mitigation.
- 3 Remediation, validation & monitoring The fix lands in your repo for your team to review. Polylane checks that things are back to normal and keeps watching every deploy after it.

tushar @gpu004 Common questions
Is PlanetScale down or is it my app?
Check planetscalestatus.com. If it shows no incident, open Insights: a slow or failing query from your app is the usual cause.
How do I find the slow query on PlanetScale?
Open Insights for the database and sort by total time or rows read. Each query shows its latency over time, so you can see when it changed.
Can I undo a schema change on PlanetScale?
On databases where revert is enabled, a deployed schema change can be reverted from its deploy request for a short window after it ships, keeping the data written since.
Who will help me with a PlanetScale incident?
Our founding team, engineers who have carried the pager for production systems at scale, working with Polylane's agents across your PlanetScale databases, code and telemetry.
