Expert incident response for Railway
Our founding team picks up your incident, and Polylane's agents dig through your logs, metrics, traces and code with them.
- Real engineers who've carried the pager The team has been on-call at Cloudflare, Webflow, Groq, Twilio, and Robinhood. They've been where you are right now.
- Multi-cloud incident response Polylane investigates incidents across AWS, Cloudflare, Vercel, Kubernetes and the rest of your stack, from the edge to the database.
- Unified context & investigation Logs, metrics, traces, deploys and code in one context graph. Connect in minutes, not weeks.
- Least-privilege access New cloud accounts connect read-only, with scoped credentials. Nothing in production changes unless you allow it.

My app on Railway is down. What should I do?
Check status.railway.com first. If Railway reports nothing, open the failing service's logs: Application failed to respond usually means your app isn't listening on $PORT, and a failed healthcheck keeps a new deploy from going live. If the errors started with a deploy, roll back to the previous deployment from the dashboard, then fix forward.
- 1 Check Railway's status status.railway.com lists incidents across Railway's infrastructure. If one matches what you see, the problem is upstream.
- 2 Read the logs Each deployment has build and deploy logs in the dashboard, or run
railway logs. Crashes, missing variables and port errors show there first. - 3 Line it up with your last change Compare when the errors started with the service's deployments list. Variable changes ship as deploys too, so they count.
- 4 Roll back, then dig in Open the last good deployment and choose Rollback. Then fix forward with what the logs showed.

How we resolve active incidents
- 1 Rapid onboarding A Polylane engineer reaches out, connects Polylane to your clouds, code and telemetry, and confirms what's affected.
- 2 Investigation & mitigation Polylane's agents investigate across logs, metrics, traces and recent changes, and an engineer works with you on the right mitigation.
- 3 Remediation, validation & monitoring The fix lands in your repo for your team to review. Polylane checks that things are back to normal and keeps watching every deploy after it.
Why teams choose Polylane
“Wait... so you're telling me I don't even need to make PR's to fix up stuff and @polylane will just do it for me????”
Tito @mynameistito Common questions
Is Railway down or is it my app?
Check status.railway.com. If it shows no incident, open your service's deploy logs: the error there tells you whether your app crashed or never started listening.
What does "Application failed to respond" mean on Railway?
Railway couldn't reach your app. It's usually not listening on the PORT variable Railway sets, listening on localhost instead of 0.0.0.0, or crashing on start. More in our guide.
How do I roll back a deployment on Railway?
Open the service's deployments, find the last one that worked, and choose Rollback from its menu.
Who will help me with a Railway incident?
Our founding team, engineers who have carried the pager for production systems at scale, working with Polylane's agents across your Railway projects, code and telemetry.
